Using band pass

How often do you guys use band pass filters? I have a tendency to want to use almost all low pass, but I know I should be using band pass more to give more breathing room (less muddiness) to my sounds. I've read advice given by top producers, and a common theme is carving out frequency space. That being said I was just curious as to how much people here use bp filters. :) |

i like to use band pass filters...like you said it opens up space in the mix and makes the sounds mess better together. if you just always use low pass filters then all you get it bass on top of bass...you got to mix it up.. |

i've been doing a lot of drum sound synthesis lately, and band passes are the light of my life there :)
seriously, bandpasses allow you to sculpt much more precisely than simple lowpass or highpass filters would.. also, they make great sweeps if you add the filtered signal to the unfiltered. |

try using filter combos, makes it interesting and deeper imo |
