I'd be fine with it if he asked you "hey do you want some help finding some stuff that fits your style?" and then let you decide if you want his help or not
but he'll ask you what style you like, and then hand you 60 records...most of the time about 90% of them aren't even the same style you said you liked
the problem is he treats everyone like they're an idiot and don't know anything about music
i remember about 3 years ago i went into the old store with a list of records that i wanted...this was when i was just starting to buy vinyl, but i wasn't a noob to trance...
he looks at my list...tells me that i don't want any of those tracks because they're old (they were all no older than 6 months), and that i want the tracks in the store now because ill come in next week asking for the songs he has on the shelves now
like hello buddy...i don't need the newest and hottest tracks when my record collection is 6 records and i don't even have turntables
he then gave me a stack of about 80 records and said that ill like these better
the entire stack was pretty much progressive
after i listened to a couple of tracks that i wanted to hear i justl eft the stack
came in the next week and he had 3 records that were on my list...go figure
he has driven away a lot of people with his pushyness
if he changed his attitude and wasn't such a dick im sure he'd get a lot more business
it annoys me but it doesn't bother me to the point where i won't go in the shop
its just always funny when i walk in and pick up a record i want...then he hands me 50 more and i only walk out with the one record that i had originally picked off the shelve myself :p |

Hahahahaa!
This thread is jokes...
Especially because I find those clowns at Pit to be exactly what you people described. I prefer the staff at Release who are not that pushy and actually know what they're selling and what might interest you without wasting your time... and the guys at Play De Record are pretty knowledgable on the subject too, if you are able to catch them that is, plus you can find so much good stuff in there too if you have the patience to look for it. |

This is exactly what happened to me. I was starting to buy records but I wasn't a trance n00b, so I gave him my list of old tracks and he gave me a 15min long explanation of how that's all old and that i really have to know to scene to get the stuff I like. He basically makes you feel like a 4 year old.
Another time I went in and asked if they had a Neo & Farina tune, he goes "no, what type of music do you listen to?" I go, melodic trance, and he starts looking on his shelf and hands me three drives and some other stuff that i didn't want, so I leave as quick as I can |
