The 7th Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division crossed the Euphrates River on Tuesday. The cavalry crossed a bridge packed with explosives, but Iraqi forces had not rigged the charges.

Substitute horses with tanks hehe. Cavalry merely denotes a unit that utilizes fast mobility through either horses or vehicular transport. I guess it's a naming convention that has stuck throughout hte ages. |
