| I dont really have a problem paying $50 to see the Masta, but if i have to pay the bouncers @ roxy another $20 to get anywhere near the front of the line, then thats $70 now....i hope its like 2 pvd's ago when they let anyone right in who had tix (what would be the point of getting tix then right??)..hopefully last time they were just scared due to the RI incident... |

If anyone has success getting a response from either Made Events or PVD's management, please post! I’m emailing [email protected], PVD's website, and PVD’s PR ppl, though they don’t have anything to do with cover charge. Even if they don't lower the price, they should know we're upset about it.
I am a huge PVD fan and will probably drive 4 hours from school and pay the $50 to see him, but I'm tired of promoters shamelessly taking advantage of us :mad:

PvD returns to Gotham for another round. This past Friday, the air inside
The Roxy was thick and wet with the perspiration of thousands of bodies
dancing. One look out onto the dancefloor and the PvD magic of yesteryear
was still to be found in the thousands of smiling faces. There's a certain
connection between PvD and his New York audience. The ones who waited 2+
hours in snow, sleet & rain at Twilo's doors every two months. The ones who
ventured to Sound Factory and then to Exit to seek out his sound this past
year. It's been four 1/2 long months since he's been in town and the
audience was hungry for the strains of his unique sound and energy-driven
tracks. A special remix of Delirium's 'Silence' and PvD classic 'For An
Angel' made for a memorable night along with a PvD special remix of Sasha's
'Wavy Gravy.' A bit of creative synergy from the world's best DJs. Paul van
Dyk rocked The Roxy for 6+ hours in grand fashion for a truly amazing night
of dancing and New York energy with PvD at the helm.
Tonight, he returns to play a charity event on arc's spectacular new sound
system. The renovations, the lights, and sound will make for an
extraordinary special night with the #4 DJ in the world (DJ Magazine -

it's a simple economics question. the club or promoters, whoever sets the price, will charge as much as people are willing to pay. the problem for us is that there are enough pvd fans such that even for $50 there'll be a high turnout. if all the people that were planning on going decided not to go because the price was too high, then they'd be forced to lower the price. but this won't happen cause there's always more people willing to pay any ridiculous price to see pvd.
