renting a generator for an event.. how much power do i need????

ok.. i have an outdoor event this sunday and i need to know approximately how much power i will need in a generator. The setup would be a mixer, 4 turntables, amp, 2-4 speakers. Anyone have an approximate idea of how much wattage or amps i will need???

well, the decks and mixer will draw no power at all hardly.
it's the speakers and amps you need to worry about, and that depends on how many Watts total of speaker power you have.
If i were you, i'd take the peak output of each of your speakers and sum it, and then get a generator with at least that many watts of output.
and definitely err on the side of caution, better to have too much than too little! |

I dont want to change the topic of the thread but I will cause you already did. All I wanna say is OPEN YOUR EYES, sadam is just a cover up, an excuss for the usa to invade iraq cause they want to occupy it and have power over the region, and also for the oil I guess (besides if america just wanted sadam they could have more than easily got in, finished the job and got out, no need for innocent people to die). And in my humble opionion there is no excuss for starting a war, not even a Sadam Husein, and he who thinks the oposite is a stupid person. WAR IS EVIL and those who commence it or support it for any reason are also evil. I wonder, if the americans where bombing your back yard what would you think then? |
