Mmmmyes, I was hanging with Graham and Hordash for a good part of the night, though I was also wandering quite a bit...

And I've seen rubyriva dance crazy too, I think she just gets tired faster than Greg. :p

What a night...I'm now coherent enough for a full review.

Got there around midnight, Caufield was a boring warm up DJ, but the tunes were good enough to serve as some background music for that first hour when everyone runs in to people they know and chat for awhile. Valentino came on and the pace changed immediately! I really liked his set. He played some big hits that I'm getting tired of (Pontape, Sunshine) but they did fit the set at the time.

Carola's mixing was tight, but he bored me. Nothing really sticks out in my mind from his set. (But I think I was pretty drunk as well!) Beyer came on and did not cease to impress us with his mad skills! Omg. His track selection wasn't my favorite type - I usually like more funk in my techno ;) - but what I really noticed was the transition from bassline to bassline between tracks. Very smooth! I went ing beserk when he played Misstress Barbara's "Ouch, my liver!" at 6:30am. I had NO energy left except enough to hop around a little, bop my head maybe, but when he played that - woohoo! Got my third wind! LOL That track rules.

Nice meeting/seeing TAs throughout the night - sake, Hordash (met you at Turbo), Highroller, Diginut, Natalie (did you have someone with you that I met as well? I honestly can't remember.)...ummm...I met a ton of ppl from tribe as well, so I'm getting a little confused!

It was quite the eye opening experience to be at System til close sans drugs. I was so exhausted, but ended up staying just because Beyer's set was so good and interesting to listen to. But seriously, seeing people sooooo ed up at 6:30am - mad dancing, stumbling out to cabs in the rain once the club closed - was interesting. Also, when you're high and people (male or female) start chatting you up, you don't even think about it! But when you're sober and you get the same thing, it's like "wow, I must look great tonight because all these guys are chattin me up!"

So yeah, got home and passed right out at 7:30am, then got up at 10:30 to pound the pavement with my boyfriend til dinnertime, looking for an apartment! (we found one) Then it was naptime, and time to do it all over again. Woohoo!!! :D

hi all,

last time I saw Beyer was at 10am on 1.1.2003 and I do not remember much of it. I thought it was because he was sandwiched in between Lekebusch and Umek. Now I know why I don't. It must have been 'cause I was dancing my arse off from 10am - noon (umek came on just then) 'cause he is just soooo good.

I am kicking my bum for not going to NYC, but I will redeem myself during the summer, when I will do some travelling to see him more often.

Yes, Friday was one of the best parties in a while, but it was TOOO SHORT! I can do 7am without being f00ked up, I left and I wanted to party more, but due to the lack of movement, I got REALLY tired really quick.

Soon, I will hear more techno (Mayday) and I cannot wait.

Sake: The track I was looking for is on the Carnival EP by Cave.

to all you guys: Sorry for scaring ya, but we germans do dance differently than people in North America. In the end, it's all about having fun.

I had a TON of fun and I cannot wait for more good parties to come up during the summertime. I know, i am a techno (schranz) addict.. oh well :D

ps.: nice to meet all of you, i will return sometime in the fall, probably. Get Beyer to come again and i will be there too :P

Usually Ruby can go for as long/ longer than me. I just take bathroom brakes and drink more, which helps endurance. I was rather exhausted this friday and i haven't been in shape recently, due to being a lazy bum during the week ;)

HAHA, reading these reviews makes me feel like i missed out big time! I was there though, but i spent most of my time in the breaks room. I did come out for Carola, and that was intense! Every time i came out he had this wicked beat going on BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM, I had to stay for that. Sounds like my 30 mins in the front room was not enough :(. It was mad packed though, and that made it too hard to dance in the front room.

The Highroller
me and Hordash were in the breaks room for a few seconds then we shake our heads and he says "this sounds too much like Joker for me.." we had a good laugh :stongue:

*no offense to people who like breaks

I think some of us TA's found some extra room at the side near the front to dance... so it was alright for part of the time. It was mad packed though, for sure. You definitely should have come up for Beyer, that was insane.

So you were in the breaks room huh? I went in and out of there several times that night, did you see me?
