I've tried brnging my camera in a few times to VIVA but there's always that chick bouncer that doesn't let me :whip: now I saw a lot of people there with cameras and stuff and I was wondering if anyone could help me sneak it in on PVD?

Easy, show up early. Like around the time when the Dancefloor is empty and the early TAz would be ther socializing. that is wha tI do. I have never had any Problems. But I noticed once it gets full in there they do not let u take them in.

Maybe they want to "limit" the amount of ppl who are taking pictures for their websited (due to the fact that they could clamin ownership of the picture and perhaps sell them). I dunno. I just pulled that reason out of a hat.

Actually, they can't claim ownership for any pictures. Photos are intellectual property and, technically, if Viva tried to use someone else's photos (for example, from this board or t365) without permission, the person who took the photos could file a lawsuit.

As for a serious reason, I think it's more likely that as the place gets more crowded, the lineups start to get longer, and the bouncers simply have less patience for inspecting everything.

Either that, or maybe the girl just doesn't like you, Alfa. :p Do you get groped or just looked at suspiciously?

yea that girl has hassled me about my camera a few times too. i convinced her tho :D

Are we talkin about the hot frisker chick?

Maybe it has something to do with age? I never had any Problems witht hat chick. Always smiles politely and never Groped me where she shouldn't have :D. Maybe u should ask for her number and tell her "You are the Most beautiful Bouncer you have EVER had the pleasure of being groped By". On the other hand it might also get u kicked out.:stongue:

I'll tell you some reasons for not allowing a cam, cause I work at a club and I think these rules apply anywhere :)

1-flash are ing annoying, the place has low light, and you recieve a flash in your face, you wanna kill that guy. Imagine 20 people who have a camera that take pictures non-stop of you the dj.

2-imagine you are a candy kid and all your friends are too... you end up taking pictures of them and maybe you put them on the net... what a bad rep the club gets... candy kid place. It may sound far fetched, but it happens. And club owners don't want a bad rep for their clubs.

3-everyone knows there's lots of drugs in the clubs, imagine you take a picture of your friend as "joe blow at Viva" with a spliff in his mouth or hand. Or worse, people in the background rolling one, sniffing a line, selling Es whatever. This is a NO NO!!!

4a-Some people go to the clubs to have a good time and you're lost in your own world doing maybe stupidities, you don't want people to take pictures of you. Directly or in the background.

4b-At least here in Quebec, you're not allowed to take someone in a picture without his/her consent, you could be sued for taking a picture, and the club for letting you in with it. It happened to me more than a couple of times where people asked me to erase the picture on the spot or take it off the website.

5-Rare, but some DJs just don't want to be taken in pictures. As simple as that. So the club disallow cameras.

6-Also, some maniacs just love to go and take pictures of girls without asking like a ing retard, they get pissed and might not come back to the club.

All in all, its all about reputation and the club owners who want to control it.

Hmm, I don't think so, I am talking about the Afro-American chick, I guess in her 30s or late 20s, damn, I even tried to tip her, still didn't work, I just hope she isn't there at PVD :D

fastmp3, i agree with all your posts. it's true, there are a lot of people who are asses and just go around snapping pics like crazy. some people might not like it when i just take a shot of the crowd or whatever. so yeah, it's basically to cover their (club) asses and minimize risks.

but on the other hand, how bad is a flash considering the lasers, and the strobe lights? i mean, come on, those are just as annoying sometimes :p

and with me, i basically take pics to remember the night, not to try to snap pics of etards, or get hot chicks and like that.

and about the candy kid thing, still riled up about apocalypse? lol, get over the fact that there's different kinds of ravers/clubbers ^_^

but yeah, those points are valid. i'm on the fence about cams. now, if you're vip, then you should be allowed to have them hands down.

:)
