Hey
I recently finished compiling my promo-cd, Liquid Earth, and would be happy if any of you tranceaddicts could give me some feedback..
The CD is mostly chill-trance, similar style as In Search of Sunrise compilations or Armin van Buurens sets..
Its on a very fast connection, so it shouldn't take long to download!

02. tilt - children (courtyard mix)
03. chicane - autumn tactics (thrillseekers club mix)
04. airwave - save me (original)
05. karuma - on y va (allan mcloud rmx)
06. cabala - dark blue (original)
07. jan johnson - flesh (tiesto remix)
08. crw - sweet dreams
09. traveller - bright sign (trance mix)
10. rising star - touch me (armin van buuren remix)

This Cd would be classified as Uplifting/Euro Genre trance :D.. Looks like a good track selection, I will put a review 1nce it finshes downloading... |

well....maybe its not THAT chill :)
But I spent alot of time finding the right tracks, and combining them in the right order, to make the mix harmonic, uplifting and energetic!

Decent mix, just a couple of changes I would make.. I hope you like good critism :D.. Well here
1. SPX - Strait To The Point is a good song but I think that this song should of been the second track in the mix and Robert Miles - Children (Tilts Courtyard Mix) should've been the 1st because of the buildup in it..
2. Robert Miles - Children 2 Chicane - Autum Tatics was a very nice transaction, although if it were me I would of used Chicane as a track to end the mix with, the reason is because it's a nice song to remember the mix by..
3. The 3 tracks in the middle are placed great, especially karuma - on y va (allan mcloud rmx), nice build-up :D..
4. Jan Johnson - Flesh & crw - sweet dreams are thrown in just right (although a couple of skips it sounds like, good).. Very nice :D
5. I wouldve put Traveler Bright Sign in the middle of the set, probably right before Airwave - Save Me..
6. Rising Star - Touch Me (Armix Remix) and Chicane - Autum Tatics (Thrillseekers Mix) wouldve been 2 nice tunes to finish the set with, I will say it again, Chicane track wouldve finished off on a good note :D...

Overall You Did Some Good Ass Work In This Mix!!! This is the type of mixes I like, keep Djing, just watch out for the skips :D... I would like to hear somore of your mixes.... |

I will try to record the set in the order you proposed, and see if its better than....I totally agree on many of your points, chicane would indeed be a nice track to finish it off, despite it being a bit chill/calm track...
But I didn't ONLY set up the tracklist in the order I did to build the set properly, I also made sure the tracks sounded nice when being mixed togheter, that they have a similar sound, so they kinda float togheter, which is the entire idea behind the cd, a smooth and floating mix.
again thanks for the pointers.
if you'd like to hear more, I have recorded some livemixes which are also on my website, these are more uplifting and progressive (since they were played for a crowd)

i listened to your mix. It's nice. I like the tracks, very mellow, uplifing. Beach music, for me. Mixing isn't spectacular but with tracks like this it's difficult. Just the first transition isn't so good. Your slightly out of phase with the songs. I wouldn't use this as a promo cd just because of the first mix.
If you give this mix to someone who is looking for Deejays, and the first transition isn't perfect, he is probably not gonna listen to it any further (I wouldn't).
If my first mix goes bad, I just start again. I did this like 20 times on some occasions, just to get the first one perfect (no kidding).
Also, for my taste I'd like to have 3 or 4 more tracks in the mix. You can still have the songs on for 5 minutes and have a 15 track CD.
