I also put this thread in the Music Discussion section b/c it's best if specified for a region of ppl with similar club outlooks.

I wanna know what u all think in your opinion would make the dream/ultimate/most amazing trance niteclub venue in town? Go all out, don't limit to what it might cost....i just wanna know opinions, and what seems to make a good venue.
I'll post mine when i figure out a decent list; I'm jsut too lazy to do that now.

...so have fun.. :haha: :nervous:  ;) :D :toothless

Desinty had a cool venue on Charlotte Street in Toronto for Binary Finary... It had an old warehouse feel (a la 1995/1996). If you could get that place to sell liquor you'd b e king!

the dream trance venue? i'd have to say skydome, but as long as the sound system owned, they'd have huge towers filing the whole thing, a massive stage, lasers galore, and fireworks and . and oh yeah, open roof, in late july, early august. something on the scale of sensation black and white, hehe. and oh, inside in the hallways and stuff there'd be vendors galore. and i'm not sure if the skydome has semi big rooms in it's complex (it must) but there would be chill rooms, and diff styles of music, ie house, prog, techno too maybe.

personally, i think that would be sick. :D

either that, or basically have tiesto and pvd spinning in a setting just like the 'waiting for tonight' vid by j-lo. on new years eve. with all the hot people. and a pool :D

now that would be sick as well :D

ahh, dreams :p

Wild Water Kingdom. Drain the wave pool, put the DJ at the end. You could float around on the lazy river.

Over by the big slides have a different DJ... playing something faster like techno...

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Ultimate venue for any sort of huge electronic music event in this city has got to be the SKYDOME!

Whoever books that venue and a few top-knotch DJs for a party has all my respect!

I think he wants us to conceptualize our dream venue. Not limit ourselves to what already exists.

Size: I wouldn't want too many people in my club. Cause if a club is huge the vibe can get swallowed up. So limiting capacity to 2 - 3 Thousand sounds fair. There has to be enough space for these 3 thousand people to dance like bellands though. NO sardine canning in my club.

Sounds And Lights: State of the art sound and lights is an absolute must. Lazers peircing the corona and bass rattling my bones.

Design: A retractable roof for summer dancing under tha stars! That would be hype. An upper terrace so ppl can watch the maddness below. Good crowd flow so that the dancfloor is apart from everyone walking around. Lots of comfy lazy boy chairs so you can kick back and relax. DJ booth in the centre of the dancfloor so the man behind the decks can get maximum crowd interaction. And finally a seperate chill room with lots of comfy seats with low volume ambient sounds in case ppl wanted to get away from the music.

You said to go all out .. i guess thats my dream club.

I'm down for the SkyDome idea. Man, that would be awsome!

oh yeah. the chillout room would be playing ambient stuff, like as said. stuff like aphex twin - selected ambient works (I and II), boards of canada, autechre... basically ambient artists off of WARP :D

and i just watched the 'waiting for tonight' vid again, hot damn that would be sweet to hear tiesto or pvd playing there. :D

location:
absolute middle of downtown Toronto, eaily accessible by subway system and transit system.
parking is on top of the builing which is only 3 stories...eanbling agreat view of the Toronto skyline at nite.
It'll be a big complex able to hold about 20000 peepz.
the whole thing is shaped like a spheric crown shape (hard to explain).
all ceilings are 15 feet high.

outside:
navy blue and silver edges. 2 entrances to lessen lineups and 1 more for VIPs (which by the way are automatically TAs).
2 exits from each floor for easy outgoing.

inside design & music genres:
1st floor: prog trance, trip hop, scratching, euro, hardcore, dance
.. design consists of a jungle/forest atmosphere, fake trees around the walls and pillars diguised as trees, fake animals and real fountains scattered. the ceiling has a forest type of sky at nite that reacts to brighten with the blacklites.
The DJ booth is in a corner, seemingly mounted on top of a mountain, with a waterfall running off of it.

2nd floor: dance, techno, breakbeats, d&b, euro
.. design consists of a mid-air "flying" type of atmosphere. skyline of the city is duplicated or just one-sided windows even! the design should give the sensation of flying. blacklites lite up the stars on the ceiling at nite.
The DJ booth is planted on top of a narrow "skyscraper" (going with the mid-air theme) and it's lights are constantly beatmatched

..the 2nd floor has a room that takes up about 1/3 of the floor and connects to the same room on the 3rd floor, with a DJ booth in the middle between both floors. This room is for private party groups or when there are not, for lounging and lounge/mellow electronic music.
the DJ booth in this midroom is mostly transparent except for where the permanent equipment is. The room has couches and a bar.

3rd floor: uplifting trance, hard trance, prog trance, euro-trance, some d&b, some breakbeats
.. design consists of a deep space atmosphere. floor walls and ceiling are lit with stars and planets and nebulas to give the sensation of floating in deep space.
..the 3rd floor has a room connecting to the 2nd floor 1/3 room as described above.
The 3rd floor DJ booth is "hovering" (hung) in a replica of saturn's rings which as just slightly slanted.

the light/laserlite systems are syncronized to the beats on each floor, colour coordinated to each themed floor.
Each floor has a bar, which is fence-enclosed to allow >occasional< all-aged events. The sound system used all over is a top of the line system (i don't know fo any brand names for the best). All staff wear something consistent with the floor they're assigned to.
There's an elevator in a corner of the builing to enable equipment movement. Each floor has garage sized openable windows, for various uses. Extra parking is underground for 2 floors. The complex could also be setup for rock concerts too, because I like that music as well.
I think that's it, I don't wanna overdo it.(yet! )
I have yet to find a decent name for it... something with worldwide appeal. heheh.

Oh yea, and Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate, Tiesto, all my DJ friends and I would all have residences there (of course!)
