I was cruising for pro-Arab news sources one day since al jazeera was down as usual and I found this one Saudi news source that seems pretty good. I haven't heard much about this news agency so I don't know how credible it is, but basically they give a daily update from all their journalists in the field and its written almost like a journal entry rather than the standoffish, impersonal accounts we're used to.
I guess it could be considered unprofessional, but I like the personal accounts a lot. If gives a much better human perspective of what's going on and you get a good feel of the chaotic nature of the war. From one account, I was surprised to learn that the British soldiers around Basrah were treating Iraqi POWs better than the civilians (in terms of giving them food and shelter). Also they don't seem all that anti-American :) ... just a tad bit as expected. At any rate I briefly mentioned this site before but didn't go into any detail.
For your enjoyment or for your rubbish bin: www.arabnews.com
Edit: Some articles are definetely over the top but I like the war correspondance. |
