Easy peeps...
How do the ppl in this forum feel when TA's DJ on a night? Is there much support going around or do they just get dissed like the big names? Just wondering...
BTW, hope the night at halcyon will be great!!! Went in last night and it was like rock music? Bit weird, but the venue itself is class! That is if its where its held. |

when i think about ti a ta dj has never played a night that any of us have been to.
quote a few have done radio broadcasts but they arnt the same.
i would expect epopel to be very supportive, as TA dj's will be dj'ing as something they like, and not ripping off the clubbers. |

Apart from GC, is there any other trance nights in shef? Even underground ones? I'm still new to the city, only been here for a year, but been working countless of hours just to keep myself alive!
I love trance, and is dying to bring the scene back to shef. I hate it when ppl say its and stuff, cos they are like... have u ever thought why there is more funky house and hip hop nights? cos no one likes trance etc etc etc. Cos of nights held at kingdom with all the cheese spoils the scene, a lot of ppl dont even know what trance is.
I got into trance around 98/99, and im 24 now, im thinking even kids back then would of been about 14/15, wont even know what trance is, the scene in effect has changed quite a fair bit. |

yeah i agree with that, that they'll be spinning stuff we like and especially not ripping off the clubbers.
Support is vital for all upcoming djs and upcoming events |

a lot of me mates in shef say that funky house has dominated in sheffield as well as hip hop.
Hard house seems to be coming in big again, whereas trance, ppl say its just gone commercial... true in one sense and false in another... those who don't really know trance just think of those in the charts. ppl ask, Ed, what are you djing there? i tell em trance, and they are like as in dj sammy and lasgo? lol man! |

Yeah heard about em too man. Filth has potential, but there doesn't seem to be the backing there which is a shame, i went there last night and the monday before and it was quite quiet. But i have always thought that trance don't work in a bar, unless all ur mates etc are there... cos in a bar, i rather say listen to funky house as such. Suppose thats why funky house has more of a gathering in shef. A lot of me dj mates only do funky house, that or converted from trance |

filth always gave me the impression it was more prog and tribal, with a minimal amount of trance. never been like.
and i also thought touch was more prog based.
hip hop and especially funky house are in every town anyway, so i tend not to include them. |
