which is better?
DJ Tranz
Roland is a great mixer but it is quite old, that is, it hasn't been updated for some time now, just like all djm unit(djm3000 is a brand new model so excluding it). Tascam X-9 is a GREAT mixer, after three months of debating between Tascam X-9, Roland dj2000, Allen and Heath XONE62, Rane Empath, and DJM3000, I went with Tascam X-9, picked it up about three weeks ago, and I would be playing with it non stop if it wasn't for those damn life's nessarry things like sleep, work, college, food, lol!!! I think my friend was getting tired of me going to his wherehouse and playing with the mixers, so he finally made me decide which one to get. I chose Tascam becuase it has dual bank sampler and dual bank effects processor plus outlet for external effects unit and they are ALL ASSIGNABLE, having two separate effects going at once can make a DJ very creative. Plus the knobs are very easy and crossfaders are like soft butter, and IT HAS FILTERS and just like on Xone32 with Tascam you can control the beat of the filter as well. Unit has programmable effects, samplers, fader curves and all this is recallable back to your setting if you let someone else use it. Just like you, right before I got my mixer, I was down to two choices, Roland 2000 or Tascam X-9, and Tascam won because of the way it felt, feature=benefit ratio, and I honestly thought Tascam puts out better sound quality.
Good Luck!

btw. I think Roland 2000 has been discontinued by now, 'cause I used to see them everywhere for like USD $1499.99 and now they are $899.99 go figure. If you decide on Tascam X-9, shoot me email at
[email protected] and I'll direct you to my friend for a great price on one and possibly what ever else you need, and yes he does ship internationally as well.
