Do the label's sites post statements on marketing/financial data such as revenues and expenditures?

pretty accurate....although I'd probably have Nebula/VC in there 2, considering they release Tiesto, Armin, Lange, Cosmic Gate stuff etc.. in the UK now
breakdown
in the end, success is all in the profit margins and gross sales.. you can be highly popular, generate the sales and still come up with a loss. And we all know, the losses don't come with success.

Is it just me or are the labels that are run by DJ's very succesful???

ie:

Dj Tiesto - Blackhole
Oakey - Perfecto
PvD - Vandit
ID&T, although I don't know who runs it.

peace,

Steve

a view of a successful label should not be based on rumours and speculation of their financial state...

it should be based on the quality of the tracks, that each release maintains this quality and that the djs consistently play them out. that is all the criteria needed imo. despite what happened, lightning/bonzai were a very successful label on this merit.

anything business wise (like sales) is pure (rumour fuelled) speculation unless you are the label's accountant.

The question was - which label is most sucessful financially - not what the stuckup ta's who love soemthing cause they think its cool believe to have released the best tracks.

And everyone, X-Hale knows his stuff.

wow, you BOTH sound like you really know your stuff. im in awe of your knowledge :stongue:

i was just saying what i reckon should be the interpretation of a successful label. they not all out there to make sh*t loads of money (but it would be nice). the main thing is the music....and btw the question said

Yes, i also agree the main thing is the music, but the question was - which label is most sucessful in terms of sales and profit - so why dont you just go a tree
