It all started with a Japanese Nintendo game a very long time ago which was very poorly translated into English.
Like so.
If you go there, you'll see the orginal NES rip of that funny and poorly translated video, followed by one of the 10s of made up versions of the theme right after.
Here's the history of it and a the video again. That should answer everything. |

i agree. the point wasn't just to draw speech lines, it was to photoshop things into scenes so it looked like someone was takin over hardcore. i like the first scene with bush the most in this one, but thats about all.

| actually it was a game for the sega master system. and the only reason it became popular in the first place is because it was so badly translated. |

However, I'm sleepy and I'm reading this awful engrish from that game, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if there's something wrong with my translation.
