reconstructions... why?

why do some of you make "reconstructions" of remixes? I listen to them, and I notice like 2 things different in them. What is the point? How are you making these things? are you like adding some effect, adding one or two notes to some melody, and then calling it your reconstruction? I don't get it.

I don't know? I've never reconstructed my tracks!? :)

Ask Paul van Dyk, he's the master.

...so that lame ripping groups can rename and "release" them as the real deal.

Actually, bigname djs play certain tracks in their livesets that will never be released (most probably due to legal reasons). Some of these tracks are so good that other people want to have the full thing and some others that are djs want to be able to play them in their sets. So certain individuals that have the skill to do so rip the tracks from the livesets and create begginings and ending for them to make them sound like a full track. So actually its not a remix of the track if that's what you're thinking.

FYI there are many talented producers on these forums that have done amazing reconstructions e.g. deekay, danceadict, azareal and others whom I do not remember right now and without them we'd be stuck with the lousy rips right now

I don't really see the purpose of it either. I remember once someone 'reconstructing' Svenson & Gielen's remix of Lexicon 4 - Reach Me... That one was released, no?
If someone wants to release a track, ask the original's composer I'd say. I think he has more conscience and feeling of the track than merely add effects and a few notes or copy paste things.

My two cents on this... :)

or lame stores like HTFR.co.uk who cut the mp3 one and sell as the original song, like they did with east vs west - the love I lost

Have you ever even tried to do a reconstruction??? It's not as easy as you think!! I was trying to do the die another day reconstruction when i gave up... it was just to hard, so i asked Danceaddict to do it. It's unbelievable how he did it...I'll tell you right now, not anyone can do it, it takes lot of patience and hard work, and ear talent.

Yeah, I agree. Everything takes talent though, not only reconstructions ;) It's probably not only copy paste wave files, but in itself, it's just like that, no?
What I mean is, you might not get as much praise or recognition by just recostructing a track rather than remixing it as a whole for example... I think.

what exactly is 'the die another day reconstruction'?
