invite only means you have to be invited :P
someone who is in the channel ( usually someone who is oped) has to type /invite (nick) (chan)
then u just join the way u would join a normal channel |

| thanks for the response, however what would be the correct command line for invite channels that require login and pw input if u already have login and pw's? |

| quote: | Quoted from mIRC help
/JOIN #channel
Join the specified channel.
example: /join #irchelp
This will make you join the #irchelp channel. Once on a channel, anything you type will be seen by all the users on this channel. The #irchelp channel is very useful, so say hello and then ask any questions you want. If the channel you specified doesn't exist, a channel with that name will be created for you.
Some channels may also have keys ie. a password, which you need to specify when using the /join command.
example: /join #irchelp trout
This will make you join the #irchelp channel using "trout" as the password. |
This is what you were asking about I guess. :toocool: |

invite only channels, you usually have to signal an eggdrop(bot) or another operator to invite you in. Usually for some eggdrops, the syntax goes like
/msg invite
but this should have been a procedure the botmaster should have instructed you with. Other than that, its basically impossible to get into an invite only channel unless you are an IRCop
Bigdil, what you're talking about is channels that have key access...the key being a password of somesort. But I think Loficer is probably talking about keyed channels anyhow. |
