It wouldn't matter if he were self-taught.

Well, as a hint of things betwen Paul van Dyk and BT, when I interviewed Paul in 2001/2002 we asked who he respected most as a producer, he didn't even hesitate:
"BT - Brian Transeau".
The full interview is currently being moved online, so if remind me later if you want the full link.

Push01, I’m glad this is your opinion because BT is one of the most respected DJ's in the world, so what the hell are you on about. PVD would laugh :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: at you if you said that "BT was below average as a DJ". You really need to think before you say like that
And even if PVD and BT were mortal enemies, they would still respect each others talents as a DJ or producer, so maybe you should show some respect as well :whip: :whip: :whip: |
Thank you for the advice amigo but I have heard BT sets and know many people who have seen him and yes, he is a below average dj. His skills are not that good. His mixing is usually shoddy and track selection and programming boring. He is a very good producer though.
Also do you use logic in your arguments? Where did the concept of mortal enemies enter this discussion? Are you 5 years old? This isnt Superman vs. Lex Luther? WTF? Furthermore, what evidence do you have of PvD's regard of BT's djing skills? Yes he often mentions BT's producing prowess but I have never heard PvD praise BT's djing abilities. Lastly, BT and PvD's mutual respect has nothing to do with my opinion on BT's djing ability. Use your brain a little boy |

I was speaking hypothetically about them being mortal enemies, I just assumed you would be smart enough to figure that out. Yes, you are right about him not being the best DJ in the world, but I just didn't like the way you said it in your original post. I guess I just got caught up in the moment. Id just taken a listern to Somnambulist and thought it was really good, and then saw your post!. It seems you like to point out negative aspects and disregard the positives. Why bring something like that up in a topic like this?......I think i used my brian a little better this time round:D |

Still haven't gotten around to downloading this track, but I expect nothing but quality from bt. Some of his stuff hasn't been to my taste in the past, but he can always turn things back around in short order.
I think the thing I respect about him most is his diversity, not many producers could make two top tier tracks like Flaming June and Fibonacci Sequence, that are both divine, yet completely different from one another.
Must say that I'm looking forward to this new album and the Junkie XL mix of Sonmabulist on the 12"...I really hope that particular mix kicks, just to annoy all the elitist snobs that much more :p :p :p |

I have a feeling you're confusing producing with DJ'ing... |

I thought that’s what people would think, but no it wasn't the case, it was just not the time to bring up negative points about BT after hearing Somnambulist....On another note, does anyone have the cover art for “Emotional Technology”? |
