Tutorial: How to spell the word "DEFINITELY"
View this Thread in Original format
CynepMeH
I wanted to contribute to these forums by providing a free tutorial on how to spell the word "DEFINITELY":

defi-nite-ly

notice that there's no "A" in the "nite" portion of the word.

Just thought it could help those in dire need of clarification.

Enjoy, class dismissed.

:tongue3 :D

Hah, I remember posting about the spelling of definitely in one of those grammar whore threads. "Definitely" the most frequently mispelled word ever.

I don't know. The Misuse of homophones is a little bigger. But I guess that is not "technically" a incorrect spelling.

Hmmmm

I tend to avoid the use of "definitely" when I am typing outside of a word processor so that I will not spell it wrong on accident.

It's more like the "omg hi 2 u, whos ur fav dj, mines paul van dyke" people.

Using it in moderation is okay.

even after reading this post I will still misspell it, and I use the word all the time.

I usually go for the "definitly" spelling of it. I have always been horrible at spelling and it is probably one of the hardest things for me to remember besides names of people. But if I look at a map for directions once, I am good to go and won't get lost...evar.
