i just had a call come in from an 858 number, which is usually a cellphone in this area, and it rang only once. i called the number back and an automated message tells me that the number is not in service, check my call and try my call again.. this is a recording.
so.. wtf? |

I know at work I get a number of fishy situations when trying to get a hold of canadians ..... |

Once my older sister called and in the course of our conversation, her phone was disconnected because she prepays for minutes and we used up all of her remaining minutes during the call. When I tried to call her back I got an automated message telling me that her number was not in service.
So maybe whoever was calling you had no minutes left on the cell phone account? |

| It could also have been a calling card. Sometimes they have a bunch of random numbers, but you wouldn't be able to dial them. |

You need credit to receive calls up there? Here you can receive calls for about 3 months after we run out of credit :p |
