Ok... The first day I got my wisdom teef(teeth) out I wasn't bad at all. I woke up completely fine just a bit dissy. Now its the 2nd day and my cheeks are sooo swolen. I hope this goes away tomorrow because I can barely even eat, if I try to crunch my teef together I would likely bite the inside of my cheeks out.....LOL
Just wanted to know, anybody that had surgery to get their wisdom teef out, did your arm burn really bad when they gave you the medication? The doctor told me that it would happen but I didn't think it would be that bad. I just remember the doctor telling me that my arm might burn for a while, and then it felt like I just woke up right after. |

I got my 4 TEETH done at the same time and lost 30 pounds the week after, it was very weird.. some side-effect of the anesthesia, even the dentist could not explain...
I know for sure I lost my apetite for about 3 days and couldnt eat nothing but soup .. guess my body overreacted and consumed all the fat, luckily I was a bit chubby at time, I dont wanna imagine what it wouldve been like if I wouldve been slim:nervous: |

I got screwed. I got one out last week, and they didn't give me no drugs, (except a few T3s). Oh well, it only took me a few hours before I was eating solid food! |

yea i had a similar experience when I got 3 of my wisdom teeth out. I only had 3 so I decided to take them all out at once. I requested to be knocked out only with the pure excitement of trying to mentally fight off the drugs and let me tell you what an experience it was. the laughing gas was the best part as I was inhaling it like no tomorrow. I knew what the results were gonna be that I'd eventually end up sleeping and then soon after wake up. I think the dentist was enjoying the fact that i was huffing it from the mask quite heavily. I distinctly remember a huge weight on my body and my eyes began to get heavy. the injection still pinched when it went in but at this point i was straining to stay awake. Sooner after the injection it was lights out. I remember my vision closing with the black portion of my vision in a circle slowly contract and then i was out.
upon waking up i remember i woke up rather abruptly, i think i was still trying to fight it, so when I woke up I tried to get out of the chair right away and walk away like a champ...yea right, my legs werent fully there yet however i didn't fall on my face or anything. i stumbled as if i was drunk towards the receptionist area while my father was sitting in the lounge. quite the experience shall i say since i made the most fun out of it as possible.
they only prescribed me 3 vikes which I was asking for more since i had already began to feel that empty throbbing feeling in my jaw. they wouldn't give me more than 3 which was retarded. so about 30mins after i had walked out of the dentist the fresh air began to kick in and all my senses were coming back in full force...this is when i decided to smoke a cig...not a smart idea...even though i did it anyways...i felt this nasty coating of nicotine in my mouth and im guessing my mouth had dried out from the anesthetics(sp).
welps it was a fun experience and i didn't have any swelling as you mentioned. i believe the swelling is something only some people have cuz i certainly didn't have my cheeks swollen. if worst comes to worst, i'd say a bag of ice would do the trick...and a few vikes or OCz. good luck |

I've had 4 teeth pulled out aswell, but my experience differs slightly from all of yours here. First of all, my teeth were pulled out on three different occasions during three weeks. The dentists said that, taking out all teeth at once, would be MADNESS. :D
The anaesthesia was injected to my gums with a needle, so I was fully conscious while they were jerking around with tongs in my mouth, I felt absolutely nothing. A strange experience. :) When the anaesthesia ceased though, it wasn't that funny any longer.
My advice is to take painkillers if necessary and try to be patient. I had to eat soup for quite a while as my teeth were very sensitive, but you'll recover, it just takes some time. |
