Is It Wrong...

...to think that when an establishment has two doors in it's entryway that one is 'In' and the other is 'Out'? I view the doors like road travel (at least here in the states), where traffic is on your left.
So then, why is it that I'm finding more and more places where one of the doors (typically, the 'Out' door) is LOCKED! Why not just have ONE door? And if you're going to lock one door maybe put up a sign that says "Yes, we have two doors here but one is locked shut. We are waiting until the other door wears out before we unlock & use this one. Using two doors at once just seems like overkill LOL. Please use the door that is unlocked."
I feel like such an idiot when I walk up to a perfectly good door and expect to walk through it only to be snubbed completely.
Also, I did some research and found this:

Weird. |

I am totally locking the left doors at our lobby entrance tomorrow and giggling as customers yank their fookin' arms out of socket. I'll even put up a sign that says "pull hard". |

yeah the right door from the outside is always locked into one of the buildings on campus
annoys the outta me, i forget every time. not to mention there's two doors and a lot of traffic, you'd think they'd unlock it. not like thieves are gonna try the right door and be like , its locked, lets try somewhere else. |

i am a switch hitter. if im holding books with my right hand.. and noone else is coming out.. i go on the left where my hand is free... but if someone is coming, i switch my books to my left hand and use the right door. |

If there's two doors, isn't the door on the right for entrance and the door on the left for exit?
What does "traffic is on your left" mean? |

Yes but if you're inside the store then the door on the right is for exit and the door on the left is for entrance.
I should have said 'oncoming traffic is on your left'. But if I look at it that way, I don't have to think about the doors as left or right, just in or out. ;) |
