I'm pretty new to the scotch world... all I can tell ya is that I definitely prefer single malt over blended, and McCallan 18 has been my favorite thus far. |

i agree i much prefer single malt...one down side to scotch is that it can be pricey to get drunk |

I enjoy whiskey in all in its forms, may it be single-malt, blended, even bourbon. |

Green Label over Blue Label IMHO. But Black Label isn't bad for day to day.
Talisker 10 Years for single malts. |

i drink alot of whiskey, my favorites are the islay single malts, laphroaig, lagavulin, bowmore and caol Ila
i do keep a bottle of macallan 18 and glenlivet around for those days where im not in the mood for a strong peat
recently i have discovered a new islay called smokehead which is intensely peaty, as in i just had to go out and buy some Cohiba Sigolo's just to complement the richness of that whiskey
as for blends, the only one i would say i enjoy would be the peat monster, again super smokey and peaty.
i drink alot of jamesons, its my everyday large quantity whiskey as its super cheap.
another single malt to try is one distilled in cape breton novascotia called the glen breton, commercially its only avalible in a 10 yr but at the distillery you can get a 15 and 16 year for about 190 bucks for a small bottle.... totally worth it. |

I'm not a big scotch drinker unlike my father who keeps trying me out on these crazy unusual ones he digs up from distilleries that have gone out of business.
I was on a flight a few years ago where they served Johnnie Walker Blue Label and after all the hoo-haa I heard about I did try it...with Coke. Just because.:wtf: I have since tried it neat and it was a bit too unconventional, preferred Black Label for a more regular hit of whisky. |
