Kind of funny how the iphone user is portrayed in the video, because it's genereally true that most iphone users buy the iphone because it's an "iphone". People should actually do homework when buying a cellphone rather than depending on apple's self-absorbed pompous shiny annoying advertisements.
On the other side, it's terrible how unilateral this video is. There are plenty of aspects of the iphone 4 that beat the evo. Just do a search and you can see that even though the iphone is smaller than the evo4, its resolution is still considerably better. Tests show that the processor in the iphone is most likely faster than the evo's snapdragon. Since the iphone screen is a little smaller, it reasonably fits in your pocket and is lighter. It's got longer talk time (albeit evo4 uses 4g). Video records at a higher framerate. etc etc...
The big thing that I like about the evo4 is android. Open source is a huge deal. Apple likes to surround everything of theirs in their stupid ing bubble as if everyone using their products will use them how apple thinks they should be used.
In the end, I'm still going to end up buying an iphone, because I can jailbreak it and I'm already on an AT&T family plan.

I'm sure the iphone4 is remarkable in many ways, but this video demonstrates some people's obsession towards apple turning dogmatic as Apple becomes less pragmatic. I too am an avid Apple user, but I've complained numerous times over "upgrades" which made the product actually worse (omg Logic 9). In some aspects, Apple is becoming like Gucci: insipid people just buy it for the image. And Apple is catching on to that.

Saw that today and it positively warmed the cockles of my heart to see that the iphone isnt the greatest thing ever. Not that its bad, its just not that good.
Have to give props to Jobs though, while he cangt design a good phone to save his life, he is a marketing genius. He was able to bluff americans (everyone else in the world knows better) that the iphone was not technologically already 5 years behind what basically every other company was putting out, You do need some skills for that :)

i laughed at the video.
my boss is a tech rich freak. he got the new iphone the day it released, then was complaining that there is a design flaw they knew of but released it without fixing it. if you hold it like a normal phone you hand shorts the wifi and antenna which kills you signal :stongue:

that video was funny. i am probably going to be getting my first "smartphone" in a few weeks and it will probably be the iphone, because it has to be on at&t. i've wondered if it really is the best option for me compared to whatever else at&t has to offer but everyone just tells me that i should get the iphone...
