DO all mixers designed for trance/dance mixing have a PLF (or similar function) feature?? b/c I know I want and need this feature. I just need to know what mixers to steer towards or away from.

I think it is safe to say that just because they claim to be made for dance/techno does not mean they have this feature. As for the other half, I am curious myself? Which good trance mixers don't have PLF?

i can't stand mixers that don't have them. makes life a living hell.

Just reading this post and was thinking of buying a new mixer myself, just wondering what's PLF? could anyone please tell me wot it is and does?

PFL = Pre Fader Listening. Useful for cueing up the next record.

Most mixers do have some kind of PFL nowadays though. It's just the method that differs. Some mixers for example don't allow for more than one source to be in PFL. Others have a master/pfl fader. Even others have split cue...

i love split cue it makes it 10x eaiser for me to beatmatch

What mixers don't have this??? Wouldn't this be essential for any mixer... Hell even my 1st mixer ($50 Next mixer) had this....

Why would you buy a mixer without it??? Isn't that what the mixer does?
Split cue is a different story (They all don't have that)

i never saw a mixer without one. are there any mixers that dont have that fuction, like how else do u mix if u cant cue? i would never buy a mixer without the pfl, its neccessary otherwise itll be hard to mix for sure.

i was planning on purchasing a car, for driving mostly on the roads and stuff. But i want to make sure that i get one with wheels and an engine, because this is important to me. does anyone know where i can anyone provide me a list of which cars have wheels and an engine?

I can't imagine not using it. So much easier, great especially when I make mixes when people are sleeping in the next room.

Actually, this question did have merit at one time, but not any longer. The very first generation of mixers were really nothing other than crossfaders. The djs didn't use headphones and you couldn't control the volumes or change the pitch. Of course, this was back in the 1950s or so, when the very first djs were coming about. A good book to read if you want to know more about the history of djing is: Last Night a DJ Saved My Life; The History of the Disc Jockey, by Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton.

yeah i think a more important question is what kindn of pfl you want. lots of scratch mixers and some other club mixers have a cue fader which is nice. some have on or off cue buttons and with others you can only listen to one at a time. also there are ones with split cuing... take your pick then im sure someone will tell you whats good.

my first mixer was a scratch mixer and the cue fader was nice... then i got a xone62 and its either on or off but you can cheat a bit and turn up the gain when cuing to bring out your cued records... just remmeber to turn it back down when mixing in : P
