My Glow Trip
Hey guys, just got back from DC tonite, and it looks like the boards have been active since i left, lots of catching up. Looking forward to Ferrys massive 2 hr set (LOL) this sunday with you all...the meetup will make up for it tho...way to go Hizzle (harold) on setting that mizzle with dj ferry cizzle at tgiFizzle
anyways flew up not only to catch Tiesto but also to finally check out Glow which i've heard so much about. the club has a great atmosphere about it, the dj booth is centered and very close to the crowd and the lighting and sound are solid too. the club definely needs a cold air system like space because once the place packed it was so F-in hot in there also not cool about this club is the strip search you go through to walk in the place, and the security is gestapo like inside the club. not used to that, space is/was so lax, basically Space is 100 times better than Glow the only place i like more than Space is Aria in montreal because you can walk around the dj booth and watch from behind the decks and you dont have to worry about having "some extra fun" inside the club.
On to the show, warmup dj was decent, he played depeche mode -lose myself lexicon avenue rmx---love that jam. by the time tiesto came on the place got really packed and the dance floor was basically became shoulder shoulder and the only dancing you could do was jumping up and down which was kinda gay cause the only place you could break it down was in the back of the dance floor. but nonetheless jumping up and down is no better than with tiesto. his energy was great, lots of tracks ive never heard before. as i recall the only nyana track he played was andain beautiful things. traffic was freakin amazing live, andy hunter go was definely the song of the night- the crowd jumped a average 4 feet higher to this track and Tiesto did this spinning roundhouse punch on the last buildup of Go! maybe thats a new move!...when a track hits and glow throws on their lights and the paper comes down from the ceiling---omg its euphoric, plus noone controls/owns a crowd like T does, he is seriously a puppetmaster.. unfortunaely he gave up the decks at 4:30 even tho he was scheduled to close??? he closed with Brainwashed. i tried to call as many people as possible but it was hard to get a signal in the club, im sure some Tas got some good voice mails tho. see you guys this wknd
