i never produce just one genre..I don't think its a good idea to box yourself in saying 'i only do this'. its a good idea to specialize in something, but you should listen to as many different types of music as possible. That way you can experiment with taking sounds that are normally associated/limited to one particular genre and try them elsewhere, which may result in you finding something that works well, and before you know it, you too are a pioneer of a sound!



seriously though, keep an open mind production wise. it pays off.
