hm.. you're going to want to listen to a lot of dave seaman, nick warren, lucien foort, john digweed (try his older stuff, but actually some new stuff is ok), sasha..
try old essential mixes to get you started, www.tracklistings.org for the playlists.

and figure out who the prog-heads are on this board.. they'll always be naming tracks.. like meself and blue neon

for the record, some guy started a deep house thread but all the tracks he named were NOT deep house... they were just more progressive trance tracks... jus' so ya know

i guess a start would be ANYthing by way out west, esp. their 2000 album Intensify. anything starecase. parks & wilson. steve gibbs. john creamer & stephane k. and of course james holden (ariane, main element etc.)

hope this helps

well nick warren is my favorite dj, so i didnt really forget him.. all his GUs are magical.
fleming is pretty good, always changing styles tho.. but ya that's prog trance along w/ christopher lawrence etc. - tru progressive trance.

but i think he means more progressive anthony pappa etc.. more prog house

or simply, progressive if you'd want to call it that. what sasha and all them (who aren't about the uplifting) are all about

(of course sasha has been known to thrown down some Massive trance tracks)

great.. i duno about d-ten... but the rest looks awesome.. you don't want to miss THE ESSENTIAL nick warren GU in brazil tho.. hehe

for the trancier side of digweed, check sydney first.. amazing after a couple listens. ive had it for a couple yrs now.. seaman in cape town also.. you'll find the disc 2s are more trancier

nubreed is an off-branching of GU, very progressive, hous-y eclectic djs... sander k, lee burridge etc.

you'll have to decide on your own which ones you like out of that series

There are plenty of people on here who are very knowledgeable about prog so I'm sure they will be no shortage of recommendations.

However I would also suggest a couple other boards, I'm usually found on the TRIBE board and more than anything else in the progressive forum. That and the Global Underground board I find are the best to keep up to date on current prog.

www.tribe.ca
www.globalunderground.co.uk

To listen to samples of new prog tunes I find these to be the best online record stores.
www.release-records.com
www.plasticfantastic.co.uk
www.3beat.co.uk

and for a good site that focuses on prog try:
www.progressive-sounds.com
