Urban Insects

suburbian's stay away, this thread is for the urban folk who deal with jurassic size bugs on a daily basis.

i remember as a kid growing up and playing with centipedes and perhaps its kharma but the last 3 days, i've had over 4 inch long centipedes that have to be 1/2" wide in my lil studio.

it's seriously the most disgusting bug to wake up to in the world.

just wondering if anyone else has been running into these things, they are a freak of nature big.

Obviously the worlds largest bugs all reside in cities because that's where it's easy to get jobs, right?

there's this massive bug I always find on pavements underneath yellow lights. It's usually seen with it's feet up and struggling to make a flip and get off it's back. I dunno what the fuck it's called. Often times I feel something crunch under my shoes and I think it's a twig or some dry leaves. But it's not.

it gets really really dry here in the summer time so all the bugs that are normally in the sewers are forced to come up for food and water. the cockroaches... ew, the centipides ... ew but the spiders that eat these things... WOW.

i think thats the only thing i don't like about city life.

If that centipede would have stung a person, said person would have gotten a REALLY bad headache which would lead to hours upon hours of vomiting. Damn poison.

Fortunately I live in a building that's nice enough to not have insect problems. However, there is a large contingent of rats that hangs around the dozen or so garbage cans back in the alley.

I once fought a large flying cockroach in my dorm room in Texas. I batted it off the wall with a large umbrella and my roommate slammed a Doc Marten boot down on top of it. He lifted up the boot and the sonofabitch started running for the darkness under neath my roomies bed!!!! I batted him again with the umbrella into the corner and again came the Doc, not once but, twice down on his head. Finally he lay there silent. We chucked him out the window and he landed dead in the middle of the sidewalk, unmoving. When I woke up the next morning I went to look for him and he was GONEOMGRESURRECTION!@!!!@@! I fear one day he will come for me and there will be nary an umbrella in sight.

I was riding my motorcycle and a spider dropped down inside my helmet right in front of my right eye.

I contemplated running straight into a light post just to kill the disgusting bastard. Instead I just pulled over wiped it out of my helmet, inspected my helmet for approximately 15 minutes then kept riding while getting the shivers and goosebumps every 20 seconds.

Horrible creatures
