Love Poundin' Sensation 'Foreign Devil' [Trance] {full 320}

You'll get a Paul van Dyk feel when you hear this song. It has a lot of energy, which I hope you all will appreciate

A lot of energy?!

There's no major builds or breaks to generate momentum, and you haven't used any hi-hats or a throbbing bass line to generate any sense of pace. I'd call this positively cruisy.

Good track though, I enjoyed it. Good progressive feel, generally high standard of sounds.

Keep it up.

Haha, idk. I felt like the final breakdown had energy to it. And there are hi-hats but I guess they aren't prominent enough :[

Thanks!

Oh, let me re-up it.

those electro stabs are nice.
The beat is kinda simple. You intended this to have a lot of energy, so there must be more going on in the high percussion area (hihats). Right now the only prominent hat is the one on the offbeat, thats too boring.
The clap sound sounds too uninspired, it sits well in the mix, but the sound is somehow very dull, especially during the first small breakdown it gets quite obvious.
I dont really like the melody, it feels like its not really going anywhere, its kinda droning up and down, imo it needs a rework.
This doesnt mean its bad per se. The production seems solid, the mix is well balanced. Kick and bass combo work, and the synth work is very good.
Seems like you got the skills, so you can work on this one to make it outstanding

Hey again man. I agree with most of the comments posted already, percussion needs to be beefed up for this to have more drive and energy. the melody is simple, so the other elements can afford to be much more complex to complement this. I don't think the melody needs changing, sure it doesn't really go anywhere in any major way but I don't think that will matter once the rest of the track evolves more around it. Play with the arrangement of the bassline, something more complex than doof-whomp-doof-whomp will add energy and movement, plus layer some rolling chika-chika percussion over the top. I think this will really bring it out of its shell and enhance the great synthwork you already have in place, I really like the synths, they're well lush
