Re: Is Progressive House The new Trance?

After being huge in the trance scene for since around 2000. In the last 1-2 i've been getting a bit bored with most of the 140bpm trance music. (though there is the odd good one now and then) Progressive house (at least as its defined by beatport) typically incorporates a trancy melody at around 130bpm or there-abouts. I must say this sub-genre has been allowing me to hold onto what has been a dying genre (at least for my personal taste, not to say in general)
Just wondering your thoughts, and if anyone has strayed the same way i have. |
evolve your tastes

He's right - many former Progressive producers moved onto techier, electro, and more minimal sounding records.
Personally I don't think there are ENOUGH 140+ BPM Trance records. I like my Trance to not only be Progressive and melodic, but also hard and fast. Only Psy-Trance still seems to deliver on high BPMs.
