Any Ableton Push 2 users here?

Tax refund time and I'm GAS'ing for one, since I've been using Live 9 quite a bit lately. Anybody here using Push 2 for studio use? Talk me into/out of buying it.

Are you getting a lot of use out of it, or has it become another overpriced paperweight taking up desk space, while you click away at the mouse? This is the problem I'm starting to face with my Maschine - I used to be very hands-on with it, but ever since it became an ugly hybrid between a bloated drum machine and an under-featured DAW, I find it less and less appealing. I don't want Push 2 to be the same type of situation.

Also, I should mention that I spend most of my time in Arrangement view, and it seems that Push 2 is better suited for Session view. Any thoughts on this?

Update: Guitar Center just knocked $150 off the price (St. Patty's Day sale), so I succumbed to the GAS. Still interested in people's thoughts, though.

Well I'm interested in hearing YOUR thoughts Dave!

It's probably the next thing on my list as I've moved across almost exclusively to Ableton Live now.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get rid of the Analog Rytm as I'm just not feeling it, and just use Ableton for drums in my live jam setup.

£500 here though

I'm going to skip out of work as soon as my "in-store pickup is ready" email comes in.

Well, the first impressions are...wow. This is a solid and sexy piece of kit. I freakin love the playability of the pads - they blow away my Livid Base 2 (will be sold soon) and even my Maschine mk2 (which I'll keep for now). The unit is solid, heavy, and built like a tank. Knobs, switches, and slider are all solid and dead on. After using it for a few hours, I'd say that any concerns I had about about the constuction/feel not justifying the price tag are long gone. My Maschine feels a bit cheap by comparison.

Oops, I didn't see your impressions here.

One thing I cannot find any information on is the integration of EQ Eight into the Push interface.

I'm not even sure if it's a feature. But I'd love to be able to access those controls via the Push knobs so that I can EQ by ear instead of eye.

Yeah, it's there. You can access all parameters for all Live devices, either directly or via macros. I haven't tried this yet, but apparently I can also set it up so that I can access the parameters of third party plugins, too.

I'm not particularly interested in mapping 3rd party stuff. All I generally do is have cutoff and resonance mapped for that kind of stuff as I always forget what I have mapped anyway.

If you get a chance, I'd be interested to see a piccie of the EQ 8 implementation on the Push screen. I'm hoping you can have full control per node.

Ignore the plastic still on the screen.

When you're in the mixing mode, you can select the device and control the parameters will the eight knobs above the screen. For EQEight, the first knob dials in the band, and the other knobs are for filter on/off, filter type, etc. It's pretty slick and the touch-sensitive knobs are very solid and accurate (don't skip around).
