Yeah, I imagine that Doc and Peekay in particular don't translate well to a shortened form. The book develops slowly, but that's part of what makes it so rich, in my opinion. I'm still interested in seeing it, but my expectations aren't terribly high.

Yeah, the movie condenses the entire first half of the book into about 20-30 minutes then goes on to focus almost exclusively on his private school boxing days. Morgan Freeman is great as Geel Piet though.
