The American meadia over exagerrates things and lies A LOT. Its sad that many Americans fall for everything they say. Sorry to post on topic or anything... but to alleviate your worries, it won't pass the Senate. The House always passes extremely partisan drivel, simply because they can (see Henry Hyde's UN Reform Act). In the Senate things work differently.

Best Case: Turned down on simple no vote in Senate
Worst Case: Filibustered by the Dems until it dies
