People who don't like the "in-your-face shove-a-dildo-in-my-ass-on-a-float-down-main-street" display have just as much right to express their opinion as the avid Pride supporters.
Open homosexuality is something very new when one considers the public sphere - there will be friction and opposition for years to come.
Thumbs up on throwing your opinion down here - but you have to let the opposing side give theirs without your disdain.
I can't stand when the opposing side to a minority group undergoes intense criticism simply because of this hyperbolically inflated sense of "minority rights" that (imo) is plaguing the justice system today. |
Being gay, I'm not a big fan of the 'lets run down young street with 13" strap-on dildos and wave them in your face' bunch, as I do think that's pushing the boundries of good taste. However, I'm also in the camp of 'dont let a few bad apples ruin the bunch'
There are many great things about pride, and it's a festival still worth having. Just because a few people push things too far, doesnt mean that the event needs to get shut down / ruined for everyone.
