eh, good enough, but I still don't really see how wait periods and things of that nature would in any way vastly reduce the amount of causalities to even break even with the amount of monetary damage suffered by making gun laws more strict.

Give and take type of thing I guess, and someone is going to lose. A waiting period seems plausible, but I just don't know how much of an affect that would actually have.

Oh, and I painted herpes on a kite.

Waiting periods might reduce passionate crimes, again it's a suggestion. I have no fucking clue if they would actually go down or only enable the person planning to commit the crime time to plan it out more efficiently.

However, I have *just* enough faith in the general goodness of man that given 2 weeks to think about killing someone is enough to prevent many people from actually doing so.

I could be wrong, but I honestly don't see the correlation that all the gun control proponents see in the legal access of firearms and the influence it has on crime.

completely disgree. access to firearms doesn't cause crime, but it is the central reason for the US' very high rate of crimes committed with firearms.

in 2003 (most recent stats i could find) i think australia had something like 20 homicides where a firearm was used. how many did the US have i wonder?

I'm really torn between the whole " are guns the cause of the problem" issue.

westborough church officially announces their plans to "Preach at Funerals of Virginia Tech Dead"
quote:
WBC will preach at the funerals of the Virginia Tech students killed on campus during a shooting rampage April 16, 2007. You describe this as monumental horror, but you know nothing of horror -- yet. Your bloody tyrant Bush says he is 'horrified' by it all. You know nothing of horror -- yet. Your true horror is coming. "They shall also gird themselves with sackloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads" (Eze. 7:18).

Why did this happen, you ask? It's simple. Your military chose to shoot at the servants of God today, and all they got for their effort was terror. Then, the LORD your God sent a crazed madman to shoot at your children. Was God asleep while this took place? Was He on vacation? Of course not. He willed this to happen to punish you for assailing His servants.

the constitution is in serial trouble.
the preservation/reconstruction of Freedom of speech/expression and the right to bear arms MIGHT, just MIGHT be the wildfire issue of candidacy
