I mean if that had been an american that took the shot, you would have said the same thing. and if i am correct i believe a few americans are in the Premiership... |
im only having a laugh, I know everyone can make mistakes, but the like the guy who got ratty with me, theres no need for it, this is a fun board, not serious

if americans cared at all about football (soccer) they'd probably do damn well. However, the major sports in America are generally american football, basketball and baseball (i find this boring myself) atheletes in America are going to concentrate on these sports. Also you make much more money in America playing either american football, basketball or football, not soccer.
so who played american football here?
i played in footbal in highschool, i was a fullback/linebacker.
it seems like to me that it actually hurts more to play football with the pads on then it does without the pads. If you have played football (american) before with pads please comment on this. |
i agree baseball is pretty pathetic... there is basicly no startegy to the game, everyone knows what to do in each situation. the only thing that is a variable is how good a pitcher is and the reaction time of a batter.
But anyways, ya i've played football with full gear. When i lived in Canada for a year during my 12th grade (halifax) i made it to their football team as defensive back. even though i was a rookie i got good game time cause I was a senior, we ended up winning provincial championship. I played a lot in israel too, tackle football no-pads and in my opinion the more pads you have on, the less bruises you get.

It sure would make the World Cup more interesting if the USA did get football more popular than it is, and it is happening, but only with women. Womens football is massive and they're really good (one of the best nations in the world).
Unfortunetly, the increase of another top sport into American society will not happen...why...well, they hosted the world Cup in '94 and it maybe gave it a little "bump" but nothing to spectacular. Then last year USA were actually in the World Cup 2002 and reporters were asking people what great day it is..and people had no clue, apart from an odd one.
people would rather bore themselves watching baseball, which is just an excuse to sit on a chair and eat hotdogs and pretzells for about 5 hours whilst watching and cheering every 5 mins lol
American football is a pussys game of rugby, just look the Rugby World cup, Scotland beat them today and they were dissapointed in their final points coz it wernt really enough lol,
basketball on the other is a sport that i actually dont mind playing or watching, and i can see the fascination in supporting a basketball team, same goes with Ice Hockey, though i do wonder how the hell u follow the puck lol.
Also why do u ppl call it the world series? its only bloody usa who enters it? that makes no sense lol
Anyway, football players i know have been John Harkes (shit shit shit player from about 10 years ago lol), Coby Jones i like his hair doo, Claudio Rayner...he actually is not bad and he's playing not too bad as Man City climb the table, and as ^Ian mentioned, Kacie Keller (spl).
Oh also, Japan play baseball nd im sure they beat the national USA team.
I wish though they would play football, it would do their supporters a world of good for understanding geography of the worlds nations.
