there's no or almost no privacy in serious couples.

I give my email passwords to my fiancee so she can check at will, and I do have her passwords or can request them.

we barely ever check the others' emails.

That's exactly what I did. People have even asked me why I have left people's numbers in my phone. Simple...I wouldn't want to answer if certain people called so it helps to have their names in there (or other names for them ) so that I don't accidentally answer their call. Thankfully I haven't had that problem in a while.

Yes it's wrong.

It seems that you two have serious trust issues.

i beg to differ. i am in a serious relationship and my bf and i both respect each others' privacy. he doesn't check my phone, email, etc... and vice versa. i won't even bother to check his phone if it's ringing and he is asleep in the other room unless he asks me to. it's not always about respect, but i believe if you're in a serious relationship, even if you have access to check someone's phone/email/whatever, you shouldn't. it just shows you don't trust them.

my ex used to check my call log on my cell phone, email, AIM, computer files, posts on message boards, etc... i couldn't stand it because it just showed how insecure he was and how little trust he had for me.

there's a difference between being comfortable enough to give your passwords to your significant other, and violating someone's privacy.

me and my boyfriend know all our passwords and everything, but we never pry into eachothers lives because we respect our privacy.

There's obviously going to be some differences between people who have ben together for a longer period of time. As their lives coalesce, 'his' things and 'her' things have a tendency of becoming 'our' things - you will only ever reach this point if you can trust someone for a long period of time, possibly even forever. It's all about intention: if you are searchign through 'her' things or even 'our' things with thoughts of mistrust or jealousy, it probably doesn't feel very good - it shouldn't.

the reason why its tougher for me is because im in a wheelchair chances of me finding another girl is slim to none, im not trying to say that i was using her because thats all i could get,i wasnt everyone knew we belonged together, it just didnt work out. i depend on my friends to take me out so i can meet new people and theyre always busy. its hard for me to get over her because all i do is sit at home and listen to music, only time i leave is when im doing therapy and stuff like that. i did love her alot and she says she loves me too but i dont know what to believe anymore. we were together for a good 5 months and been having sex on and off before my accident for a few years while she was with her ex
