Every "tranceaddict" tries too hard to act like some stupid zealot for trance or something. It's funny, cause a lot of people that are prog heads now, like myself, have hated prog before, and now we love it. And we see others do the exact same thing that we did...its a continous loop. There are some people that act egotistical, but its not restricted to prog heads only pay attention to how many ignorant posts are made by people that are just into uplifting trance and nothing else. Most of us progheads are pretty openminded and reasonable, but when we see stupid comments made about the music we love, and stupid posts like your own, it pisses us off. We dont need to hear ignorant comments made by people who listen to one style of music

Thank you for illustrating my point, and welcome to my ignore list.

no but its nice to see more progressive fans because it is a genre that offers so much and so much variety that its sad that people on this board cant see that ...so im glad people are getting educated and seeing the true beauty of the progressive vibe. if progressive was truely just a boring heap of shit then djs like sasha, sander, etc wouldnt be big names to this world .... so mayb the folks that dont like progressive just cant see past there little melodies anf fluffy riffs because the huge driving force of any music piece is the beat and bassline ...and thats what makes progressive so special ...they make simple melodies and themes and put an amazing bassline with incredable beat ..make it sound so great. Progressive in reality should be called trance .... because it puts you in a trance more so then trance does ... its almost another state of concious!

btw... we are taking over the world so bow down before us SLAVES!!!!

I never said I didn't like progressive. I already do, and have for about four years. It's great music to chill to. It just really bothers me when people get elitist about it, because they make everyone else who enjoys the music look bad.

i understand the way you feel but the fact is that the trance people on this board who hate progressive and talk more shit about it then the prog heads that say well progressive is the way ..... we are just supporting our genre of music more then others ..which almost everyone on this board does the same for Epic trance ....so i mean u cant really say we are elitist everyone thinks there genre of music is the best and are elitist as u call it ...but the fact is only one group of people are right thats us not you so there hahahaha lol jk ... well everyone is entitled of there opinion and this board is a open chat so i wouldnt get offended to much alright just argue back LOL!

Yea, there's prog-addicts that diss "your" trance...but as I pointed out in my other post there's an equal amount of tranceaddicts who diss prog as well. This thread is an example of it. People come here, and think that they're only supposed to talk about "trance" because it's tranceaddict.com if that were the case then trust me this forum would be a lot worse than it is. People can talk about any form of music here, it's not restricted to "trance" and its not restricted to 'electronic music'. This is one of the great things about this forum, the diversity of tastes. I just wish that some people were more open-minded and didn't dismiss every other genre cept for their own...

And don't get me wrong, I love trance, but not the trance that Johan Gielen or Ferry Corsten spin. I love the style that PvD spins...or that John 00 FLemming or AvB spin. I saw AvB 3 times this year, and he rocked every single time. I saw Ferry Corsten and was yawning (and i'm serious) on the first song. I do like progressive a lot better than trance simply because progressive is fresh, its new. Trance has that formula that I got sick of. And I HATE when people make comments like "progressive is slow, boring, it has no depth and no emotion" and then go on claiming trance is the be all end all genre. Comments like that are just complete ignorance cause it's not true. Prog DOES have emotion and depth, and when a great DJ like Sasha or Dave Seaman are at the decks, then they're gonna take you on a journey that, I regretfully have to say, very few trance DJ's even come close. Whatever...this is my opinion...don't go calling me a "trance hater" or whatever bullshit you want, cause I love trance. My taste in it is just more specific now, I don't like anything new anthem...thats why I consider 2002 to be a shitty year for trance with a few exceptions (there's 5-6 songs that are truly great) but other than that...meh, nothing special.

People talk about it because it's good. Not any better or worse than trance but good none the less. On another note, if I hear any more comments on how progressive is better because it's more "intellegent" im going to puke.

Most prog blows. There's no denying it that most of the stuff is boring shit, but people dig into it and try to think its good. I mean, I'll hear these prog songs that have no interesting effects, no melody, no mood, nothing good at all, and people will be like "Oh great tune, i like the bassline."
WTF. Most prog is trance, minus a build or climax or lead. Stupid. But there are some prog songs that are crafted to be progressive, where everything in the song is good, everything is well-crafted, theres actually interesting things in it. James Holden, Sasha n Diggers, and a few others.
