It still sells more tickets than any other genre of EDM, period. Britney Spears can release all the shit albums she wants, but the kids still buy em, and the money machine is what keeps acts like that going.

Hey TJ- your username looked really familiar, and I couldn't quite place it until it hit me- I put up a CL post about two years ago for someone to meet up with at Armin's Ruby Skye show, seeing as I didn't have anyone to go with. We both made it there, but couldn't actually find each other.

The fact is that trance is the only universal sound across the world. Any city with a edm scene is familar with trance. But not all are familar with house, mimimal, dnb etc.

Tiesto is obviously turning into some sort of an edm pop act. But the thing is that it is so huge that it opens the door to an audience that may not otherwise get into this music. It is good for the scene, as once you are hooked you can dig deeper into the music and find what you like.

BUT main stream trance has not gone anywhere for a while, but there is great trance still being written. I urged those bored of trance to explore the progressive psy genre. very deep and the production standards for these guys are second to none. It has elements of many other genres enabling it to please trance, techno, and house fans alike. Even guys like antix are wrting stuff that is along the minimal tip. It can cover all boundries but still remains trance like and driving.
