which howard johnson? whats the address.. i'll map quest the easiest way to get there for you
the quickest way to get to bicentinnial from north miami beach is to take i95 south to biscayne blvd and exit and make a left once you get off... than its like 10 blocks north.. you really cant get lost there are signs everywhere.

but if you want to site see Miami and get frustrated in traffic, take the A1A south to collins or washington all the way to 4th street (30-40 mins) than merge onto the MacArther Causeway to downtown biscayne blvd.

Howard Johnson Plaza Dezerland Beach & Spa
8701 Collins Ave

It's not so much directions as; will it be inconvenient for me to stay this far? I have a car rented. But I'm wondering if that is too far and traffic will alwyas be bad so it's not worth it. I don't mind driving 15 minutes to SOBE or downtown,

oh 87th a collins isn't that bad... its like 20-30 minutes from bicentennial with traffic, and like 15 minutes from south beach.
It depends where you are going to be spending most of your time, Sobe is like 15 minutes from that hotel.. but keep in mind if you want to party downtown, say at space you have to drive on two different highways. personally its a little too far for me, something more around 40th st or below is nice. but again it all depends on your situation

Thanks so much for the feedback! I would imagine I will be partying a split between downtown and SOBE. I think if I didn't have the car I may be in trouble.

*UPDATE!
On the WMC roll call, say where you will be staying. This thread should just be about helping people with hotels and locations. Be great to know what TA is at your hotel.

If you're looking for a room for WMC, check out the Beach Plaza Hotel!

We'll be back at the Beach Plaza for the fourth year in a row with daytime Basic NYC parties in both the garden and the roof. The hotel is a great location -- 14th and Collins, right in the middle of SoBe, one block away from the beach. It's a perfect WMC HQ.

The rooms at the hotel have all been renovated for 2008, and there are still a variety available -- kings, doubles, bungalows and villas.

If you're interested, call the hotel directly at 305-531-6421 or email [email protected] and ask for the BASIC NYC package when you book. If you're staying at the hotel, you'll have immediate access to all of the events there.

If you're not staying at the hotel, come by, find us and hang out!

Stay tuned for the 2008 party announcements as well!
