Well it's not very easy listening. I think you kind of have to have an ear for music like this. When clean cut tunes aren't neatly laid out for people, i think it's much harder to appreciate. Kind of like a painting of a landscape versus an abstract painting. When appreciating art involves effort, I think people tend to shy away from it.

As such, with music, when there aren't neatly packadged melodies and predictable harmonies, breakdowns, crescendos etc you tend to get the question mark face

Taken out of context, a lot of the music we listen to (and particularly tech, minimal etc) sounds like space alien music. LOL, what? It does . IMO a lot of this stuff requires the listener to make sense of it, which is no easy task. Most of us have been listening to electronic music for at least 10 years.

not really, if produced and mixed well, inside the beat and rythm within the 16/32/64er patterns its often very predictable, which makes it just even more enjoyable live (especialy if u already heared one or another tune once before maybe)

true, thats whats so neat about it its like with olives or other delicatesses, i never knew kids that appreciates such stuff. but however over the years the taste developes more mature... or with some ppl it just always stays the same

Hmm... I think if that were the case, a lot of what we listen to here would be mainstream in the States instead of all the formulaic stuff that's out there right now. I think we're really in the minority.

I think the reason a lot of us listen to the music we do is partially because we're undeniably bored with a lot of the uninspiring music that most people are perfectly content with.
