As soon as someone is for palliation it doesn't take long to pass away.
I'm assuming it does both... my grandfather was sent to the same place after he had a stroke for rehabilitation. I know it as a "rehab center", but it's probably more inclusive than that.

It blows my mind that just a couple days ago they said he had 3 months to live, and he died today. I am ok... I am just worried about my mom and wish I could be there for her. It sucks because she is going to be spending all weekend dealing with the funeral arrangements and it's her birthday on Sunday.
