Is it true that IXOS Headphone DJ1001 better than MDR V700?

Yo Guyz .. Anybody know good things about IXOS headphone from Ministry of Sound DJ1001 ?? coz i find that headphone is very similar to SOny V700

So far i try to read any review about IXOS DJ 1001 .. there arent any complain about durability .. so i need u guyz to help me .. coz i am looking a good headphone

i find the model looks very similar to Sony V700 .. Actually i like V700 alot but i kind of worry about the durability as many ppl have complained about that which only last 1 year or even sometimes shorter than that

Plizz any comment will help me

Peace, LeVouS

Cool

i have had the 1001s for just under a year and have never looked back, they are completely amazing, fairly similar to 700s, but i liked the 1001s more because the bass sounded better to me gr8 headphones despite what some ppl hav 2 say

Check out my sig for headphone advice...

The only popular models that it is lacking are:

Ixos DJ1001
Sony MDR-V6 / MDR- 7506
Sennheiser HD25
Ultrasone HFI-650

Cool

mine are still in mint condition and as i say ive had them for 11 months now, the pads are starting to harden up a bit, but i spin about 3-5 hours a day every day they have never taken a trip to the floor but i reakon they would easy stand up to it

i do suggest you go and try them both out at your local dj/sound shop to make sure u feel totally comfortable with them

gluegun: do u ever think that headphones may suit certain people better than others, how certain people hate the v6 headphones etc. all u ever do is basically badmouth headphones u seem not to like.

[edit]having now reread your post, i see you have already turned completely on your v6 babies, i am confused to say the least[/edit]

...Uh? Um, V6's are a nice, inexpensive, versatile headphone that are great for many tasks, ESPECIALLY at the price... but, sometimes, there might be things that are better. That review in my sig doesnt talk about the V6's; magicthyse is working on adding the 7506's to the review soon...

besides, the v6's are out of stock at etronics, so they arent quite so cheap these days.

i have a pair of ixos dj1001s also, and they suit me fine. however, as with all equipment, try 'em out first for fit and sound. i tried the sony's, but found them a lil' too heavy and tight for me. the 1001s were a nice fit, snug, but not too heavy and didn't seem to clamp my head in a vise.

as for durability, they're up there with the best of them. i've dropped mine a coupla times and they're still fine.

Love

I've had the DJ1001's for 3 years now, and the band has just started to crack, and the phones themselves are fuzzing *slightly*

*BUT*

They have endured a RIDICULOUS amount of abuse.

When I first got them I stress-tested them by plugging them directly into my hifi sound card in my computer, cranked the equalizer, volume, and SRS effects in Windows Media Player, to the point where the headphones themselves were rattling across my desk and bouncing around. The songs I played were "Kill you Now" and "Dream Sequence" by Amon Tobin, so the bass was heavy and relentless, and the range of lows mids and highs was diverse.

I let them play like this for several minutes, then after returning the settings to normal, they still played fine with no distortion afterwards.

Astounding.

Also I've dropped them hundreds of times on accident because over the past few years I was on the move a LOT and I myself am kind of clumsy, tripping over the cord and whatnot in a hurry on my way to class.

These headphones stand up to a LOT of abuse, let me tell you.

I'd recommend being careful with them all the same though, because I'm tired of the band cracking on my pair so i'm trying to order another one, but they are hard to find for a decent price (when I first bought them I got lucky with a closeout deal and found them for $80 bucks).

Awesome, AWESOME headphones. So much so that in terms of sound quality they spoiled me.

I used them exclusively INSTEAD of speakers for countless hours every day.

Pure ear love.

That said, the Sony MDR-v700's are much more durable (you could probably beat someone to death with them), but IMO the IXOS sound better overall in terms of warmth and elegance.
