Happened to me once, wouldn't work on my PC no matter what I did.
Sent it to a friend of mine and it opened without any hitches

So the only way we got it working was for him to delete every single device from the tune only leaving the midi data. I then had to recreate more or less everything. D'oh.

There has to be an easier way though... I hope...

Apart from a few subtractors,recreating the devices isnt really a problem, but i had note patterns that i really liked and it'd be hard enough for me to make them the same as they were.

Its the second time its happened with this track.

Any help appreciated.

I have the same reason-problem as Bryan described above - only that i have worked on the file for nearly one year. Most of my back-up-files can't be opened either. Only a few of them can, but these are very early versions of my track after them a thousand changes have been made.

@ Bryan: Did you find out how to fix the problem? Did you have the problem again? And do you still use reason?

@ all: Do you have another idea to fix the problem?

I'm very sure that if i can't fix this, i will sell reason and buy another producing software. Because in this case it's obviously not even useful to have backup-files, because even they cannot be opened correctly...

sent the file to reason staff , they should be able to fix it up in case of damage or tell you what to do in case it's not damaged , it happened to me in ableton , i had a big file the kept giving me out of memory error , they fixed it up and sent it back

Yes, I think this would be the last thing I'd do - if nothing else can help.

Reason is THE MOST stabile software of all producing software, so this is a rare fault probably not caused by Reason. Im thinking reformat Windows instead. theres no point selling reason because of this, its more likely to happen more with other daws. try install reason on a different computer and see if it will open there. reason is an awesome app. and send the file to propellerhead as suggested.
