I can understand that bringing down a statue is very symbolic, but its not over yet. Even some parts of Baghdad are still under Iraqi control.

True....the media plays it like a victory by bombarding million with the bent statue of saddam Hussein!

I gaurantee you... this war is far from over... just like in afghanistan..

you're right, I was naive to say liberation of IRAQ, when I should've been more specific.

It's still a big step to come this far in 3 weeks.

(I'd never expect someone Anti-Bush say something like that.)

When the regime of saddamn hussein falls, the people of iraq dance in the streets. if the regime of george bush were to fall, people would dance the whole world over.
ahlamalek
hahahaha so true.

but then Rumsfeld and his clique will take power or some other crazy dude:whip:

Maybe you could be a human shield.

talking about human shield.

There was a lady with peace sign in Baghdad, she wasn't iraqi. She tells a tank commander to go back where he comes from, that people don't want war.

So the tank commander replies " you forgot about 9 11 " laughed and got back into his tank.

I felt so bad about the whole situation, i was in disbelief. god damn it, what does 911 have to do with this war! Is that what they tell US soldiers? go avenge 9-11?!?

This post actually makes me sick. No joke ... it's a lack of respect like this that infuriates me. I expected better of you John to not stoop to that level of disrespect.

I think people would dance regardless of who won. Its more of a "yay! the fighting is over, I don't have to worry about getting my assed bombed!" kind of dance. If the war went they other way around, they'd be celebrating the defeat of their invaders.

Republicans in Florida don't want to give scholarships to any student that comes from terrorists countries ( Iraq, Iran, Siria etc .. ). And this is a law that is been looked into the REPUBLICAN owned house of reps. of Florida. The claim was that why should taxpayers in Florida pay for this kidds coming from those countries?!?!(Ofcourse they are US citizens) .. Bush said clearly that it's not against the people but the regime, yet, the Republicans in Florida are all over this issue.. it's an idea of how this republicans can get, neonconservatives minds..

Why the do so many Cuban people there vote Republican? Can't they see that those other people (that you speek of) are immigrants wanting a better life for themselves too??

How do you think JEb keeps getting reelected?? The Jewish vote?? :stongue: OMFG that's a hick name if I've ever heard one..."JEB." :toothless :toothless

You may be partially right about that, but I don't believe for a second that all the KURDS and Shiites would be dancing in the streets at the prospect of another decade or two under Saddam. :nervous:

many of them have returned now, there were a few news paper articles that i didnt keep, and a few online links/stories that are now archived/restricted to accounts about human shields that left iraq because they got used by the iraqi government, put in front of military targets (ammo dumps) instead of humanitarian sites (grain silo's etc).

I would be happily dancing along with the rest of the world.
