Here's one of mine from last summer, wrote it for a friend's site, by request...
| quote: | Rainbow of Dreams
One way to escape the boring reality
Is to contemplate some things unseen
Or ignored in dim daily normality...
Admiring a rainbow lately I have been
***
Beyond the sky, the earth, the real
A curved spectrum caught my sight
Intrigued, I watched it flow from teal
To warm and pleasant gentle light
This picture was familiar yet queer,
A casual phenomenon - unique
I felt my eye's forming a tear
At thought of rediscovery antique
I realized the cause of my confusion:
Never before I took my time to watch
Of light refraction's sweet illusion,
Of dazzling colors' perfect match
In state of awe from contemplation
Of sight unfolded to my eyes
I thought it was a revelation
Of nature beauty's gripping ties
The ties with all the living creatures
That dwelt under the Iris' light
Of diverse colors, varied mixtures
Of those whose weakness is the might
I was absorbed, I haven't moved
For years it seemed, yet for a moment
The time that rainbow lit and grooved;
Upon its fade returned my daily torment

I wrote maybe around 100 poems in past 5 years, mostly love ones, for one particular person.. Since they are not mostly of general interest, and that 80% of them are in language most of you won't understand, It makes no sense to post them... |

| Poems are for women... Yeah they are a great way to express your feelings.. But who really wants to spend the time reading one? |

She stood on the bridge one night
her lips were all a quivver
she gave a cough
her leg fell off
and floated down the river |

Whispers in the Sand
We lay on the sighing stirring sand
waves lapping hungrily at our feet
a breeze caresses my cheek
her hand curls tightly in mine
seeking a different warmth than that of the long set sun
she resides there sleeping
a spot of saltwater dried on her cheek, or is that a tear?
beautiful features softened in her peace
the leaves of the distant trees dancing in the striated moonlight
her hair gently strewn across my arm
wisps of cloud race overhead
as I lay there thinking
My arms want to enfold her, but I refrain, and let her sleep
she snuggles in very close without waking
God, I’m going to miss you hon'
head bowed hair swaying
her fingers slide across mine
as she takes the first steps away
a lock of her hair...
a single warm summer night
...and my memories
**something i whipped up the other night thinking about a girl I once knew.
If you dont like poetry STFU on this topic.
cheers :) |

One day I too will write great poetry!
Just you all wait. For now - I dunno HOW the hell some people create the poetic stuff they do. |

k.k.d. - I like certain aspects of your poem, although i'd definately change some things. Hehe, its funny you rhymed "watch" with "match".
Orbax - very nice. thats the stuff straight from the heart. not really in much of a poetic form, but ya know... |

| yeah. im a fan of freeform. structured stuff bugs me and ill go more for internal rhymes than line caps. Its more of an out loud reading stuff because i have pauses in there that are hard to read into it thus the wierd line breaks. that was first copy to there is a lot of stuff i want to do with it |
