ok, so i got the VAZ and Fruity demos, and i made this decent sounding thing on VAZ, and i wanna use it. But, i dun really know how. I literally have no idea where to begin. I thought it had something to do with VST's, but uh, i dunno. help please? |

to be able to use vaz in fruity you need to click on channels->add one->more... then click refresh at the bottom of that list that will pop up. after the refresh is done you should see vaz in the list, check mark the box. then you can add vaz by clickin channels->add one...it should be in the list that pops up there.
except this might do you no good since you have the demo of vaz...this is because the demo version adds a sort of hissing distortion sound every 5 seconds a series of keys is played:( also i dont think you can save with only the demo of fruity either, i forgot though... |

thanks DJ Digityl. I thought though that VAZ saved the patches as .vzm's and not .vst's? will this still work? |

no no, you dont have to save your patch to use it in fruity. you use vaz within fruity. you do that by following the steps in my first post. click channels/add one/more. then click refresh in that list, then check mark the vaz box. now you click channels/add one. there is a list there that should have vaz in it, click it. after that it will start up vaz as a pop up box within fruity. click the words "show vaz" in the bottom left of that box. from there you can work in vaz to tweak the sound to what you want and use it in fruity... |

ok, i did the channel>more>refresh, but VAZ doesnt show up. Do i have VAZ in the wrong directory or something? |

the files need to be in c/program files/the fruity directory/plugins/vst. |

ok, i put VAZ in plugins/vst, and when i refresh it comes up as VAZasio in fruity. I check the box, then try to create a channel with it and it says that "for some reason fruity loops cant open VAZasio." why? :( |

Because using vsts in fruity using that method is very unreliable and i find its more likely not to work than it is to work.
The better way is to add a midi out channel.
When it pops up itll say port in the upper right corner. Set this to 1. Then hit view>effects. Go to FX 3 or any unused one, click the arrow at the left of one of the effects slot things, put the pointer over select and see if vaz is in the list.
If not click more at the top of the list then refresh on the window that pops up. Now when its done look for vaz in the list and check the box beside it, close the window. Then select>VAZ.
When the plugin loads, put the port number at the top right of its window to match the port u gave the midi out channel, and use midi outs piano roll to control vaz.
To use effects on vaz, just load them into the slots below vaz.
hope it works |

*sigh* thanks DJ-Fuq, still wont work. "This plugin doesnt seem to be valid." ? |

If that didnt work i dunno whats wrong
With some synths different names come up for them in the lists but only 1 works. I havnt got vaz installed any more so cant check mine, but i think the one that worked just came up as VAZ in the 'more' effects list, not vazasio
u could try reinstalling |

fruity or vaz? i tried reinstalling vaz a bunch, but it never seemed to work. man, fruity loops can be so fickle. is there any other decent software that i could use in place of VAZ that does the whole VST nonsense? |

I meant reinstall vaz.
Ive never had any stability issues with fl, except some minor bugs in earlier version.
Z3ta+ is the only vst synth id recommend to anybody, by far the best in my opinion. |
