MP3s are a reality in today’s world, so they need to find a way to work with them rather than fight against them...which is a never-ending losing battle. I just have one question, where is the porn industry in all of this :nervous:

The RIAA screwed up a long time ago when the first major MP3 wave flooded the internet. Instead of embracing Digital Audio as the format of the future, they decided to fight something that is virtually impossible to control. The RIAA is stuck holding onto times of the past, the traditional way to purchase music (Going to a store and snagging a CD) Just isn't the way to do things anymore. I for one would be more than willing to pay for the music I download (Providing it's high quality of course).
But the public picked up where the RIAA fell and got one step ahead of them. Where one Napster or Kazaa dies, 3 more will spring up. |

No!!! Bad bad news! Gready corporate bitches trying to wipe us out! FIGHT THE POWER!
......Ehhh
This is the beggining. Soon enough, Univercity networks will start investing in monitoring Mp3 transfer. I don't know how they are currently managed, but I'm quiet sure there is some sort of bandwidth software that could be installed. This could be the beggining of the end. A lot of hubs will shut down just out of percaution. I'd be preaty scared if I was running the EMC Hub. The HUB must live on! Who ever manages EMC should be awarded with a medal(or a Turntable)! The only place I can get great trance music nowadays.
Keep up the good work and don't let RIAA WHores get to you.
P.s. If you see a member of the RIAA walking down the street, KICK HIM IN THE BALLS as HARD as you CAN! They are targeting our soft spots(MUSIC), and we'll target theirs. |

| What sorta influence does the RIAA have in Sweden? Apart from the EMC Hub, most good hubs are based in Sweden. |

on DC though you can share lots of things, software, pictures etc, how can they shut a program down that lets legal things (pics of mates or stuff) share?
The problem is, as has been said before, mp3 wasn't embaraced by the labels before the people, so they lost control and just sue sue sue now, rather than investing money into making a legal system of mp3s being downloaded from artists. I would pay if i knew the artist got the money & not some guy in a suit, cos without the artists, the guys in suits wouldn't be paid |
