I'm sorry that I have no idea what is going on, hopefully someone can inform me. I saw something about serious health problems in Toronto and events being cancelled. What's up with that? What seems to be the problem and when will it be better?
:totally confused: |

ahhhh thanks
yeah, I knew about the illness SARS, and even worried I had something like it when I was hospitalized, bed-ridden for a couple weeks and unable to eat solid foods for over a month . . .
I guess I hadn't realized how bad it is/was in Toronto . . . is it affecting your lives of those of you that are in the area? How many people are affected/infected as far as deaths, ill, etc. etc. ...like I said, they've covered the illness on the news, but only really talked about Asia as far as "outbreaks" are concerned |

some 14 have died (I think)
around 200 cases
7000+ quarantined as far as I know
and its getting worse, because some people just refuse to stay in quarantine :( |

The worst part is that its overhyped, and business and tourism is taking a huge blow.
I, myself, am not afraid of no SARS. I still get on rammed subway cars, and go to chinatown to eat. And so do many other people. People who don't live here, or misinformed people who do, really blow it out of proportion.
Its a bad thing yes, but chances of catching SARS are extremely low, and its prolly better to go about living your life normally.
My mother phoned me and asked if I wore a mask when I went outside... I'm like, "are you crazy?" lol. |

Yours too! :D
My mom has asked me on 5 separate occasions whether I wear a mask while on the GO Train and subway.
I thought I'd play a little trick, as mean as it may seem, and when they (my parents) came to visit, I put on a mask and told them I couldn't leave my house because I was quarantined. Suffice it to say, they didn't think my joke was funny. |

I actually figured it wasn't that big of a deal in that area, but was being talked about because it was "new" . . .
Is it REALLY worth cancelling tourdates though!? |

| see the problem is not SARS itself, it's basically the ing s who refuse to say in 10 day isolation. So they go places and infect the rest of the population. Some idiotic nurse got the disease and went around for days (finally the gov't found out, got mad and threatened to take court action) (fines for breaking this is 25,000 bucks PER DAY!). Actually I think Paul Van Dyk was a ing chicken because lawler, avb, stephan, rauhofer, dilinja, lemonD and a few others played a packed guv/koolhaus on thursday night and you did not see them cancel. |
