i was wondering...
i got this little fish tank for my daughter...i had four fish but one of the bottom feeders died...it actually looked like it was eaten by the other fish lol!!! so now i have two different looking goldfish and one bottom feeder.
its like one and a half gallons, i dont have a filter, i think its too small to have one.
i change the water like once a week because it gets all crappy looking. can i use distilled water in a fish tank? would that make it less cloudy? i notice like even after the fourth day after i clean it that it gets all cloudy. any suggestions? |

puting distilled water won't change a thing, but you should still put distilled, cause there's no chlorine in it.
Anyhow, your "tank" is so small and with no filtration and with 2 fish, the water is bound to be ugly... If one of your fish dies, don't replace it. One fish is enough for this tank size. |

3 in one bigish tank and another in a small tank, i gotta do this because that one fish is 1/2 retarded and gets beaten up by the other 3 goldfish...poor little bastard... |

| i've never heard of using distilled water for a fish tank :conf:...try to get some rainwater, run it through an activated carbon filter and change it everyday |

| If the water's going cloudy fast it probably means you're overfeeding them. The tank sounds too small for a filter, but you really shouldn't be cleaning it every week. Every week remove about 2/3rds of the water and refill it, leaving about a 3rd of the old water still there. |

exact!
There's sooo many factors that affect water quality... it could be one single thing or a many factors together... |

It's not a bloody aquarium, it's a bowl with 3 fish in. Unless she regularly chainsaws wood next to it I can't think of anything else it could be.
But if you have any other suggestions go ahead. |
